S.C.R. No. 13 Summary

• Urges Congress to transfer title of all federal public lands within western states to the respective states where the lands are located.

• Requires western states to affirmatively cede lands designated as part of the National Park System, National Wilderness Preservation System, or for military use, military parks, and military reservations back to the federal government.

• Directs that if a state subsequently sells transferred public land to private owners, the net proceeds must be paid to the Bureau of the Public Debt to reduce federal debt.

• Calls on Congress to engage in good faith communication and cooperation with western states to coordinate the land transfers.

• Requests transmission of the resolution to the President, federal leadership, state governors and legislatures, and Ohio media to encourage other states to pass similar resolutions.
