Ohio Senate expresses condolences to the family and friends of John Herschel Glenn, Jr. upon his death.

Honors Glenn's military service as a U.S. Marine Corps aviator in World War II and the Korean War, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross six times and the Air Medal with eighteen clusters.

Recognizes Glenn's achievements as a test pilot who set the transcontinental speed record in 1957, served as one of the first seven American astronauts, orbited the earth in Friendship 7 in 1962, and returned to space aboard shuttle Discovery in 1998 at age seventy-seven.

Acknowledges Glenn's twenty-four years of service representing Ohio in the U.S. Senate and his contributions to The Ohio State University's John Glenn College of Public Affairs and the John Glenn Columbus International Airport named in his honor in 2016.

Directs the Senate Clerk to transmit an authenticated copy of the resolution to Glenn's family, including his wife Annie and two children Lyn and David.
