Substitute House Bill 101 - Epinephrine Accessibility Act

• Allows pharmacists and pharmacy interns to dispense epinephrine autoinjectors without a prescription according to protocols established by physicians and authorized by boards of health or individual physicians.

• Permits qualified entities (schools, public facilities, etc.) to acquire and maintain epinephrine autoinjector supplies through prescriptions or pharmacist dispensing under authorized protocols.

• Authorizes pharmacists to substitute prescribed epinephrine autoinjectors with pharmaceutical equivalents at equal or lower cost if prescriber has not indicated "dispense as written."

• Allows physicians to issue epinephrine prescriptions or furnish autoinjectors without examining the individual, provided the devices are for use in qualified entities.

• Establishes good faith liability protections for boards of health, physicians, and pharmacists who authorize or dispense epinephrine under approved protocols.
