H.B. 403 Summary

• Creates the Gender Pay Disparity Task Force to determine the extent of pay disparity between men and women in Ohio, identify causes, and develop legislative recommendations.

• Task Force must issue a report with findings and recommendations to the Governor, President of the Senate, and Speaker of the House of Representatives within six months of the effective date.

• Task Force consists of seven members: one House member appointed by the Speaker, one House member appointed by the Minority Leader, one Senate member appointed by the President, one Senate member appointed by the Minority Leader, a labor law specialist licensed to practice law appointed by the Governor, a business representative appointed by the Governor, and a representative of Ohio women's organizations appointed by the Governor.

• At least four members of the Task Force must be women; members serve without compensation and the Legislative Service Commission shall provide technical and administrative support.

• Task Force shall cease to exist upon issuance of the report; members shall be appointed within 30 days of the effective date and hold their initial meeting within 30 days after the last member is appointed.
