Defines a child as "abandoned" if a parent failed to visit or maintain contact for more than one consecutive year, regardless of whether contact resumes afterward.

Exempts non-abandoning parents from needing consent or input from abandoning parents regarding funeral, burial, or other disposition arrangements of a deceased adult child's remains.

Requires non-abandoning parents to make a good faith effort to notify the abandoning parent of the child's death.

Mandates funeral homes, directors, crematory operators, cemetery operators, and similar entities maintain an affidavit documenting the good faith notification effort and whether notification was successful or the reason for failure.

Specifies these provisions do not limit, affect, or impair other existing laws governing disposition of a deceased person's body.
