Local authorities may send certified mail notice to property owners with junk vessels or outboard motors on their property, requiring compliance within 10 days of receipt

Property owners must cover the junk vessel or outboard motor, house it in a garage or suitable structure, or remove it from the property within 10 days of receiving notice

Knowingly leaving a junk vessel or outboard motor uncovered for more than 10 days after notice receipt is prohibited, with each subsequent 30-day period constituting a separate offense

"Junk vessel or outboard motor" is defined as any vessel or motor that is three years old or older, apparently inoperable, and has a fair market value of $1,500 or less

Local authorities empowered to enforce include county sheriffs, municipal police chiefs, state highway patrol troopers, township trustees, and municipal legislative authorities
