• Creates a Joint Committee to Study Ohio Business Courts consisting of 19 members including legislators, judges, business executives, academics, and business representatives

• Committee must study the potential effects of a business court system on Ohio's business climate, the number of courts needed, available judges with business expertise, impacts on courts of common pleas, and funding through court filing fees

• Committee shall meet monthly beginning within 30 days of member appointments and must complete its work within one year of the effective date

• If beneficial, the Committee shall draft legislation creating the business court system and submit it to the Speaker of the House, President of the Senate, and Chief Justice; if not beneficial, shall submit written reasoning to the Chief Justice

• All Committee meetings are public, require 24-hour advance notice to news media, and meeting minutes must be maintained as public records
