• State Board of Education must establish an application form, criteria, and procedures for awarding school safety funds to school districts.

• Appropriates $34,150,000 from the General Revenue Fund for fiscal year 2018 and $34,150,000 for fiscal year 2019 for school safety purposes.

• Funds distributed based on school district enrollment: up to $25,000 per year for districts with fewer than 1,000 students, $50,000 for 1,000-2,000 students, $75,000 for 2,000-10,000 students, and $100,000 for districts with 10,000 or more students.

• School districts must submit applications for approval before receiving any funds.

• Director of Budget and Management shall establish accounts tracking the source and amount of funds, with expenditures accounted for under the main operating appropriations act.
