OH SB329

Expands the definition of "hazing" to include acts of initiation into student or other organizations, as well as acts to affirm, continue, or reinstate membership in or affiliation with any student or other organization that causes or creates substantial risk of mental or physical harm.

Prohibits any person from recklessly participating in hazing of another person.

Prohibits administrators, employees, and faculty members of primary, secondary, post-secondary, and other educational institutions from recklessly permitting hazing of any person.

Increases the penalty for violating hazing laws from a fourth degree misdemeanor to a first degree misdemeanor.

Repeals the existing section 2903.31 of the Revised Code and replaces it with the amended version.
