Roy Rucker is recognized as the 2017 State Wildlife Officer of the Year by the Ohio Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Rucker has served as a wildlife officer with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife for thirteen years and is currently assigned to Gallia County.

He was instrumental in investigating and convicting a local wildlife violator and has participated in numerous fish and wildlife enforcement projects.

Rucker has been involved with activities held by the Gallia County Longbeards Chapter of NWTF, including the JAKES turkey hunt and Wheelin' Sportsmen event.

The Senate commends Rucker on his statewide accolade and salutes him as one of Ohio's finest law enforcement officers.
