Abolishes the estate by dower for surviving spouses in Ohio, effective upon the bill's enactment date.

Grandfathers dower interests that vested before the effective date of the amendment, preserving those existing rights.

Provides that surviving spouses whose dower interest terminates shall instead receive the distributive share provided under section 2105.06 of the Revised Code.

Dower interest terminates upon the granting of an absolute divorce in favor of or against the surviving spouse.

Amends sections 2103.02, 2103.09, and 2106.24 of the Revised Code and repeals existing provisions related to dower.
