OH HB217

Amends Ohio Revised Code sections 3101.08, 3101.10, 3101.11, and 3101.12 to expand who may solemnize marriages in Ohio.

Adds a new category allowing any person or entity that registers with the secretary of state to solemnize marriages, in addition to the existing categories of ordained ministers, judges, mayors, and religious societies.

Requires persons or entities seeking to solemnize marriages under the new category to register with the secretary of state and receive a license to do so.

Requires registered persons or entities to produce their license upon demand by any party to a marriage or any probate judge.

Directs the secretary of state to maintain a record of all licensed marriage solemnizers, including those who register under the new provision.
