Prohibits storing or leaving a firearm in a residence where a minor is able to gain access, unless the firearm is kept in safe storage or equipped with a properly engaged tamper-resistant mechanical lock or safety device

Exempts storage if a minor gains access as a result of another person's unlawful entry into the residence

Establishes "criminally negligent storage of a firearm" as a third-degree misdemeanor if a minor gains access without lawful permission of the parent, guardian, or custodian

Elevates the offense to a first-degree felony if the minor uses the firearm to cause personal injury or death without lawful permission and not in self-defense

Allows residents to carry a firearm on their person or place it under their immediate control without restriction
