Adds new offense in section 2903.01 making it aggravated murder to purposely cause death of an off-duty corrections officer, parole officer, probation officer, or parole board member when the offender knows or has reasonable cause to know their status and has the specific purpose to kill them.

Elevates felonious assault to a felony of the first degree in section 2903.11 when the victim is an off-duty corrections officer, parole officer, probation officer, or parole board member who was specifically targeted for their employment status and suffered serious physical harm.

Requires mandatory minimum prison sentences under section 2929.14 when an offender commits aggravated murder or felonious assault against these correction and parole officers, with enhanced penalties when serious physical harm results.

Adds attempt to commit aggravated murder charges in section 2923.02 with mandatory first-degree felony penalties when targeting off-duty corrections officers, parole officers, probation officers, or parole board members.

Expands definitions in sections 2903.01 and 2903.11 to include current and former corrections officers, parole officers, probation officers, and parole board members as protected categories under enhanced penalty provisions.
