Enacts new section 2923.22 to prohibit any person subject to an ex parte order, civil protection order, temporary protection order, or consent agreement from knowingly purchasing or receiving any firearm for the duration of the order.

Violation of the firearm prohibition is a first-degree misdemeanor on first offense and a fifth-degree felony on each subsequent offense.

Amends sections 2903.214 (stalking protection orders), 2919.26 (domestic violence temporary protection orders), and 3113.31 (domestic violence civil protection orders) to require courts to provide notice to affected persons that firearm purchase/receipt is prohibited during the order.

Requires law enforcement agencies to maintain indexes of all protection orders delivered to them and enforces these orders statewide regardless of registration status in the officer's jurisdiction.

Courts must inform parties in writing or orally that possession, receipt, or purchase of firearms or ammunition may be unlawful under state law section 2923.22 or federal law 18 U.S.C. 922(g)(8) for the duration of the protection order.
