H.B. 407 Summary - Clinician Integrity and Medical Accuracy Act

• Establishes the "Clinician Integrity and Medical Accuracy Act" by enacting section 4731.92 of the Ohio Revised Code to protect physician clinical judgment regarding patient care.

• Prohibits the state from requiring physicians to provide information or medical services that the physician reasonably determines are not medically accurate, evidence-based, or appropriate for the patient.

• Prohibits the state from preventing physicians from providing information or medical services that the physician reasonably determines are medically accurate, evidence-based, and appropriate for the patient.

• Requires physicians who determine a state requirement is not evidence-based or medically accurate to document their determination in writing in the patient's medical record, including the medical basis, and maintain the documentation for at least six years.

• Preserves the applicable standard of care for physicians and does not alter their duty to meet professional standards.
