Am. H.B. No. 621 - Business Fairness Act Summary

• Creates new exemptions allowing businesses required to cease or limit operations during pandemics, epidemics, or bioterrorism events to resume operations if they comply with applicable safety precautions required of permitted businesses.

• Applies exemptions to orders or rules issued by the Ohio Department of Health Director under pandemic/epidemic/bioterrorism provisions.

• Applies exemptions to orders or regulations issued by city or general health district boards due to epidemics, threatened epidemics, or dangerous communicable diseases.

• Amends three existing sections (3701.352, 3707.48, and 3709.211) of the Revised Code and enacts three corresponding new sections (3701.353, 3707.481, and 3709.212) to create the exemptions.

• Officially designates these amendments and enactments as "The Business Fairness Act."
