HB 766 Summary

• Amends section 4501.21 and enacts section 4503.509 of the Revised Code to create and establish "The Ohio Aerospace Institute" specialty license plates.

• License plate applicants must pay a $25 contribution (deposited into the license plate contribution fund), a $10 administrative fee (for motor vehicle bureau services), regular registration taxes, and any applicable additional fees.

• Contributions collected from "The Ohio Aerospace Institute" license plates shall be paid to the Ohio Aerospace Institute to facilitate student internships in aerospace and support educational programming.

• The specialty plates must display an appropriate logo and words selected by Ohio Aerospace Institute representatives and approved by the registrar, along with standard county identification stickers.

• Investment earnings from the license plate contribution fund are credited to the fund and distributed annually to all participating entities proportionate to amounts received in the prior calendar year.
