Amends Ohio Revised Code section 3321.191 to classify absences due to chronic medical conditions acknowledged in a student's individualized education program (IEP) or 504 plan as medical excuses for absence intervention purposes.

Schools cannot require parents or guardians to satisfy any requirements beyond those specified in the IEP or 504 plan in order to grant the medical excuse.

Defines "individualized education program" as having the same meaning as in section 3323.01 of the Revised Code and "504 plan" as a plan developed under section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Effective beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, applies to school district absence intervention policies and procedures for addressing student truancy and excessive absences.
