The Ohio State University is being honored on its 150th anniversary, which marks its sesquicentennial celebration.

The university was established in 1870 as a land-grant institution originally called the Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College and was renamed in 1878.

The Ohio State University currently operates six campuses with an enrollment of more than 68,000 students, maintains extension offices in all 88 Ohio counties, and operates research stations throughout the state.

The House of Representatives recognizes the university's commitment to teaching and learning, outreach and engagement, research and innovation, and resource stewardship.

The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit an authenticated copy of this resolution to The Ohio State University.
