OH SB135

Amends the Ohio Public Employees Deferred Compensation Program to authorize automatic enrollment of new eligible employees in the program, in addition to voluntary enrollment options.

Establishes automatic deferral amounts not to exceed the lesser of 10% of compensation or the maximum federal contribution limit, with the board specifying investment options for deferred amounts.

Requires employing authorities electing automatic enrollment to notify the board and provide employees with notice of their rights and obligations; allows authorities to cease automatic enrollment with at least 90 days' notice.

Exempts employees transferring between employers from automatic re-enrollment if they are already participating; prohibits automatic enrollment if it conflicts with collective bargaining agreements.

Creates Section 148.041 requiring employers to provide informational materials and secure written election forms from employees not subject to automatic enrollment; creates Section 148.042 establishing the automatic enrollment framework.
