OH SB250

Authorizes physicians licensed to practice medicine and surgery or osteopathic medicine and surgery to operate radiation-generating equipment for patient medical treatment, provided the equipment does not exceed 200 kilovolts of energy capacity.

Requires the state medical board and director of health to jointly adopt rules within 270 days establishing training and certification standards that physicians must complete before operating such equipment.

Mandates rules specify which types of radiation-generating equipment physicians may operate and what medical treatments may be provided using that equipment.

Requires rules establish standards and procedures for the general operation and use of radiation-generating equipment and its use in specific medical treatments.

Allows the board and director to adopt additional rules deemed necessary to implement the new section, with all rules subject to Chapter 119 (Administrative Procedure Act) requirements.
