Firelands High School was selected to create ornaments representing Ohio for the 2019 National Christmas Tree display in President's Park, Washington, D.C.

Twenty-four students from Firelands High School created ornaments under the direction of art teacher Laura Tawil to capture the unique traits and qualities of Ohio.

The display features fifty-six trees representing each state, territory, and the District of Columbia as part of the 2019 America Celebrates exhibition.

The Ohio Senate commends the school, students, and faculty for this prestigious honor and recognizes the importance of arts education in developing the human spirit.

The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit an authenticated copy of the resolution to Firelands High School.
