The Ohio Senate commends the Wood County Health Department on its Centennial, celebrated January 30, 2020.

The Wood County Health Department was established in 1920 following the 1919 passage of the Hughes-Griswold Act, which set guidelines for creating public health districts.

The department has worked to prevent disease spread, protect citizens from environmental threats, and promote healthy lifestyles throughout its 100-year history.

The Senate recognizes the department's contributions to developing healthy communities and enhancing quality of life in the surrounding area.

The Clerk of the Senate shall transmit an authenticated copy of this resolution to the Wood County Health Department.
