The Ohio Senate congratulates the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio on its 100th anniversary, established on August 8, 1919, through House Bill 359.

In 2019 alone, the system paid out more than $7.5 billion in service retirement, disability, and survivor benefits to more than 158,000 individuals.

The Senate commends the system's management and employees for their vision and initiative in serving public school educators throughout Ohio for one hundred years.

The resolution directs the Senate Clerk to transmit an authenticated copy of this resolution to the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio.
