Introduced by Senators Rulli and O'Brien in the 133rd General Assembly (2019-2020) as a memorial resolution honoring Bishop George V. Murry following his death

Recognizes Bishop Murry's ordination to the Society of Jesus in 1979 and his service in roles including faculty member and dean at Gonzaga College High School, assistant professor at Georgetown University, president of Archbishop Carroll High School, and various positions at University of Detroit-Mercy

Notes his appointment as titular bishop of Fuerteventura, auxiliary bishop of Chicago (ordained to episcopacy in 1995), coadjutor bishop of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, and fifth bishop of the Diocese of Youngstown (installed in 2007)

Highlights his work on the Ohio Task Force on Community-Police Relations, chairmanship of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Ad Hoc Committee Against Racism, leadership of the National Catholic Educational Association Board, and service on multiple university and Catholic organization boards

Directs the Senate Clerk to transmit an authenticated copy of the resolution to Bishop Murry's family
