Amended House Bill 170 Summary

• Appropriates $7,000,000 to the Adjutant General for Coronavirus Relief in fiscal year 2021.

• Appropriates $787,257,512 to the Department of Education for federal coronavirus school relief, including $154,896,274 for Emergency Assistance to Non-Public Schools and $632,361,238 for Federal Coronavirus School Relief.

• Appropriates $173,000,000 to the Department of Health for Public Health Emergency Response in fiscal year 2021.

• Requires the Department of Education to obtain Controlling Board approval before expending funds for non-public school assistance and school emergency relief under federal COVID-19 relief acts (CARES Act, Consolidated Appropriations Act 2021, American Rescue Plan Act 2021).

• Allows unexpended funds from Governor's Emergency Education Relief Fund, CARES Act School Relief Fund, and Public Health Emergency Response Fund to be reappropriated for the same purposes in fiscal years 2022 and 2023.
