• Amends Ohio Revised Code section 3517.13 to allow candidates to use campaign funds to pay child care costs as an ordinary and necessary expense.

• Child care costs are reimbursable only when incurred as a direct result of the candidate engaging in campaign activities or duties, and would not otherwise be incurred.

• Child care expense provision applies to campaign committees, political action committees, political contributing entities, and legislative campaign funds under divisions (O), (P), and (Q) of the amended section.

• Maintains all existing campaign finance restrictions and reporting requirements for statewide candidates, supreme court candidates, and other political entities.

• Repeals the existing section 3517.13 in its entirety and replaces it with the amended version.
