Disapproves proposed Rule 39(C) of the Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure filed by the Ohio Supreme Court on April 26, 2022, and the previously proposed version filed on January 12, 2022.

Proposed Rule 39(C) would allow trials to be conducted remotely at the request of a party using live two-way video and audio conference technology.

The rule was scheduled to take effect July 1, 2022, and would supersede conflicting state statutes unless the General Assembly adopted a concurrent resolution of disapproval before that date.

Requires the House Clerk to send a certified copy of the resolution to the Ohio Supreme Court within five days of adoption, along with certification of the adoption date.
