The 134th General Assembly of Ohio recommends that the Air Force Research Lab at Wright Patterson Air Force Base recognize Colonel William J. Cavanaugh for his contributions to the design and architecture of the AFRL Bio Acoustics Laboratory (Building 441, Area B).

The American Institute of Physics published Colonel Cavanaugh's oral history documenting his groundbreaking architectural achievement with the anechoic chamber in Ohio nearly seven decades ago.

Colonel Cavanaugh has been honored with a dedicated bench at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum and was added to the "Wall of Honor" at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton alongside his wife and son.

The Technical Committee on Architectural Acoustics of the Acoustical Society of America voted to endorse the naming effort.

The Ohio House Clerk shall transmit authenticated copies of this resolution to the United States Secretary of Defense, Ohio's Congressional delegation, and Ohio news media.
