Representative Larry Householder is expelled from the Ohio House of Representatives effective upon adoption of this resolution.

On July 30, 2020, a federal grand jury indicted Householder and five others for conspiracy to engage in racketeering activity, including bribery and money laundering.

The indictment alleges Householder conspired to funnel and launder more than $60 million from a corporation for personal and political benefit, including securing over $1 billion in subsidies for that corporation and blocking a referendum petition.

Three of the six defendants charged have pleaded guilty to charges in the case.

The alleged acts constitute violations of Ohio law and the Legislative Code of Ethics, constituting disorderly conduct under Article II, Section 6 of the Ohio Constitution, which permits expulsion with a two-thirds majority vote.
