S.B. 150 Summary

• Enacts section 4113.66 of the Ohio Revised Code to prohibit employers of physicians from requiring noncompete agreements as a condition of employment after the employment relationship ends.

• Applies to physicians licensed to practice medicine and surgery, osteopathic medicine and surgery, or podiatric medicine employed by entities other than sole proprietors, excluding management employees.

• Allows employers to require noncompete restrictions only during the term of active employment, not after employment concludes.

• Voids and renders unenforceable any physician employee agreement to waive rights under this prohibition.

• Permits injured physicians or prospective employees to bring civil action against violating employers and recover damages, attorney's fees, and costs.
