• Creates state licensure and regulation for art therapists and music therapists through the Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board (for art therapists) and the State Medical Board (for music therapists)

• Requires art therapy applicants to hold a master's degree or higher in art therapy from an approved program and maintain board certification with the Art Therapy Credentials Board

• Requires music therapy applicants to complete a bachelor's degree or higher in an American Music Therapy Association-approved program, pass the Certification Board for Music Therapists examination, and complete a minimum of 1,200 clinical training hours (including at least 180 hours preinternship and 900 hours internship)

• Establishes licensing requirements including application fees ($150 for music therapists), renewal requirements, continuing education, and disciplinary procedures for violations
