Replaces former section 3319.221 with new section 3319.2212 establishing separate school nurse and school nurse wellness coordinator licenses issued by the state board of education.

Requires school nurse license applicants to hold a current registered nurse license under Chapter 4723 of the Revised Code.

Excludes registered nurses and licensed practical nurses without a school nurse license from being classified as "teachers" under the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) or as "employees" under the School Employees Retirement System (SERS).

Allows school districts to contract with hospitals, health care providers, and federally qualified health centers for nurse services without requiring those contracted employees to hold a school nurse license if they hold equivalent nursing credentials.

Provides transition provisions for individuals previously registered as school nurses under the former system to obtain new licenses under the updated requirements.
