OH SJR6

Proposes to amend Article V, Article X Section 3, and Article XVIII Section 3 of the Ohio Constitution to prohibit local governments from allowing persons lacking elector qualifications to vote in local elections.

Requires that only U.S. citizens age 18 or older who have been registered to vote for 30 days and meet residency requirements may vote at state and local elections.

Explicitly states that no person lacking those qualifications shall be permitted to vote at any state or local election held in Ohio.

Requires county charters and municipal regulations to comply with elector qualification requirements when exercising local self-government powers.

Requires approval by three-fifths of members in each house of the General Assembly and a majority of state electors voting on the proposal at the November 8, 2022 general election, with immediate effect upon adoption.
