Closure of Line 5 could significantly impact refinery operations and potentially close a facility, leaving hundreds of Ohioans unemployed and reducing U.S. oil refining capacity.

Enbridge has committed to a $500 million replacement project to replace current pipelines with a new tunnel and line buried 400 feet beneath the Straits, using U.S.-made steel and pipe with union labor.

Senate directs the Clerk to transmit copies of this resolution to the President of the United States and Ohio news media.
