Senate Resolution honoring the memory of Congressman Clarence J. "Bud" Brown, Jr., a nine-term U.S. House member representing Ohio's Seventh Congressional District from 1965 to 1983

Brown served as a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was instrumental in shaping U.S. energy and economic policy, including the Department of Energy Organization Act of 1977 and the Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981

President Ronald Reagan nominated Brown to the post of deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and he maintained ties to Washington through contributions to the United States Capitol Historical Society and National Presbyterian Church

Brown supported Wilberforce University and Central State University, helped establish the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center in Wilberforce, co-founded the Urbana Rotary Club and city park, and was board chairman for Brown Publishing Company

Senate directs the Clerk of the Senate to transmit an authenticated copy of the resolution to the family of Congressman Clarence J. "Bud" Brown, Jr.
