Sub. H.B. No. 183 - Protect All Students Act

• Requires all schools and institutions of higher education to designate multi-occupancy restrooms, locker rooms, and shower facilities for exclusive use by students of either male or female biological sex only, based on biological sex at birth.

• Prohibits schools from permitting students to use facilities designated for the opposite biological sex and prohibits construction of gender-neutral or all-gender multi-occupancy facilities.

• Defines "biological sex" as the biological indication of male and female based on sex chromosomes, hormones, gonads, and genitalia present at birth, which can be verified using an official birth record.

• Allows exceptions for children under age 10 with parental assistance, persons with disabilities receiving assistance, employees performing job duties, and individuals responding to legitimate emergencies.

• Applies to school districts, community schools, STEM schools, chartered nonpublic schools, educational service centers, and institutions of higher education; permits single-occupancy facilities and controlled faculty facility use as alternative accommodations.
