The Department of Education shall develop a process allowing students or their parents/guardians to request an investigation of their school's compliance with its harassment, intimidation, or bullying (HIB) policy.

Upon receiving a request, the Department of Education must conduct an investigation following its developed procedures and provide both the student and school an opportunity for a hearing.

If the Department determines the school has not complied with its HIB policy, it shall order the school to comply with its policy within a specified time and manner.

The bill amends section 3313.666 of the Revised Code, which requires school districts to establish HIB policies that address reporting, investigation, documentation, discipline, and victim protection.
