• Prohibits licensed health care professionals from engaging in conversion therapy when providing mental health treatment to minor patients under 18 years of age.

• Defines "conversion therapy" as the practice of seeking to change a person's sexual orientation or gender identity, including efforts to change behaviors, gender expressions, or reduce sexual or romantic attractions toward persons of the same gender.

• Applies the prohibition to advanced practice registered nurses, physicians, psychologists, professional counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and chemical dependency counselors.

• Exempts treatment that does not seek to change sexual orientation or gender identity, including assistance with gender transition, providing support and acceptance, and sexual orientation-neutral interventions to prevent unlawful conduct.

• Authorizes state licensing boards to suspend, revoke, or refuse to issue or renew the license or certificate of registration for health care professionals who violate the prohibition.
