SAFE Act - Gender Transition Services for Minors

• Prohibits physicians from performing gender reassignment surgery on minors or prescribing puberty-blocking drugs and cross-sex hormones to minors for gender transition purposes, with limited exceptions for patients already receiving treatment before the effective date if discontinuation would cause documented harm.

• Requires parental or guardian consent before mental health professionals can diagnose or treat minors for gender-related conditions and mandates screening for comorbidities and trauma during diagnosis and treatment.

• Protects parental rights by prohibiting courts from denying or limiting parental custody and visitation based on a parent's decision to raise a child consistent with biological sex or to decline gender transition services.

• Excludes medical treatment from the prohibitions for minors with medically verifiable disorders of sex development and treatment for infections or injuries caused by gender transition services.

Save Women's Sports Act

• Requires schools and higher education institutions to designate separate single-sex athletic teams based on biological sex and prohibits individuals of male sex from participating on female sports teams.

• Establishes private causes of action allowing affected athletes to seek injunctive relief, damages, and attorney's fees for violations; requires lawsuits be filed within two years of the violation.
