The 135th Ohio General Assembly commits to supporting the Ohio Commission for the U.S. Semiquincentennial and its work celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary culminating on July 4, 2026.

The Ohio Commission for the U.S. Semiquincentennial was created by the 134th General Assembly in 2021 under Section 149.309 of the Revised Code to plan, encourage, develop, and coordinate commemoration of the nation's 250th anniversary and Ohio's impact on the nation.

The Commission has produced a report titled "Recommendations to the People of Ohio" containing more than 40 substantive ideas to engage Ohioans and Ohio communities in the nation's upcoming anniversary.

The General Assembly commits to participating fully and enthusiastically in the nation's 250th anniversary celebration in the years leading up to 2026, not just during the final year.

The House Clerk shall transmit authenticated copies of this resolution to the Governor and Ohio news media.
