Proposes to amend Section 6 of Article I of the Ohio Constitution to eliminate the exception that currently allows involuntary servitude as punishment for crime.

Requires submission of the proposal to Ohio voters at the general election on November 7, 2023, with approval by three-fifths of the General Assembly.

Permits courts and probation or parole agencies to order convicted persons to engage in education, counseling, treatment, community service, or other alternatives to incarceration as part of sentencing.

Specifies that ordered programs must provide accountability, reformation, protection of society, or rehabilitation and may include historically established or newly developed alternatives.

Takes effect immediately upon adoption by a majority of voters, repealing the existing version of the constitutional section.
