OH HJR4

Proposes to add Section 22 to Article I of the Ohio Constitution prohibiting individuals from being required to wear a mask or facial covering in places of public accommodation, facilities owned or operated by political subdivisions or state agencies, and courts.

Defines "place of public accommodation" to include hotels, restaurants, theaters, schools, hospitals, retail stores, banks, transportation terminals, parks, gyms, and other similar public venues.

Exempts private residences from the mask requirement restrictions.

Defines "state agency" as any organized body, office, agency, commission, board, institution, or entity established by state law to exercise state government functions.

Requires voter approval by majority at the November 5, 2024 general election, with the provision taking effect immediately upon adoption.
