The Ohio House of Representatives honors the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio on its 200th anniversary in 2024, recognizing its establishment in 1824 as the Nineteenth Medical District.

The academy has supported physicians as patient advocates and promoted high-quality medical practice, earning recognition as one of the oldest medical societies in the United States and Ohio's oldest professional association.

During the polio epidemic, the academy achieved the best vaccination completion rate for school-aged children in the United States and has maintained a reputation for integrity, reliability, and devotion to medicine.

The House congratulates the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio on its bicentennial and salutes its staff and members as outstanding Ohioans.

The Clerk of the House of Representatives shall transmit an authenticated copy of the resolution to the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio.
