House Resolution honoring First Baptist Church of Chillicothe on its 200th anniversary, celebrated July 12, 2024

Church was originally founded in 1824 as First Regular African Baptist Church of Christ and moved into its current brick building in 1867

Church has provided moral guidance and spiritual leadership to the community under the current leadership of Reverend Moses Edwards, Jr., and his predecessors

House commends the church on its bicentennial and pays tribute to all those joining in the celebration of this milestone

Clerk of the House of Representatives directed to transmit an authenticated copy of this resolution to First Baptist Church of Chillicothe
