S.B. No. 181 Summary

• Amends Ohio Revised Code section 3313.5319 to establish cash payment requirements and ticket pricing rules for school-affiliated events (athletic events, plays, musicals, and other school-related activities for which admission is charged).

• Requires qualifying schools to permit individuals to pay cash for tickets and must grant a free ticket if cash payment is not accepted at the event and tickets remain available.

• Prohibits schools from charging different ticket prices based on payment method (cash versus credit card), except schools may charge a processing fee for online or credit card purchases.

• Mandates that student ticket prices must be lower than adult ticket prices for the same school-affiliated event.

• Requires schools offering concessions to provide at least one cash payment location and at least one cash location on each floor if concessions are sold on multiple floors.
