S.B. No. 261 Summary

• Amends section 117.113 of the Revised Code to require the auditor of state to audit specific funds or accounts of each chartered nonpublic school that receives public money each fiscal year.

• Defines "public money" for chartered nonpublic schools to include funds received from the state for the educational choice scholarship program (sections 3310.01 to 3310.17), administrative and clerical cost reimbursements (section 3317.063), and auxiliary services reimbursements (section 3317.064).

• Maintains existing requirement that the auditor of state audit each science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) school established under Chapter 3326 annually in accordance with state law.

• Repeals the existing version of section 117.113 of the Revised Code.
