Acknowledges Black music's roots in African rhythms and American slavery experience, highlighting its evolution into genres including spirituals, gospel, jazz, blues, rock and roll, soul, rap, and hip-hop.

Celebrates Black music's cultural impact on America and global influence through messages addressing human struggle, injustice, history, and dignity.

Encourages all Ohioans to participate in observing Black Music Month and its recognition of American music legends.

Directs the Senate Clerk to transmit authenticated copies of the resolution to Ohio news media.
