Homeowners associations, neighborhood associations, and deed restrictions cannot prohibit the display of political yard signs on residential property

Political yard signs must be allowed during at least the 30 days preceding any election held in the territory where the property is located

Minimum sign size protections established: associations cannot restrict political yard signs to less than 12 inches in height or 18 inches in width

Associations may still impose reasonable restrictions on timing, location, materials, number of signs, and placement manner outside the protected pre-election period

Signs violating Ohio law (section 2927.12), federal hate crime law (18 U.S.C. 249), or other applicable laws are not protected; any restriction violating these provisions is unenforceable in Ohio courts
